I don’t use social media unless you consider reddit and youtube to fit that description. I personally don’t, they’re an anonymous forum and video sharing platform, I’m not there to make friends.
I made this blog because I want these articles to be found by the type of person who would read them organically, not because it got shoved in a bunch of people’s feeds. I’m fine with other people sharing it, I’m really just not interested in playing that game.
Needless to say, I have none of the typical social media profiles. Contact me via email. The name is dubiousinsight, and its a protonmail address. If anyone truly desires a dialogue I unfortunately have a discord.

IIZ: Social media is for sheep losers. Sorry for the cliche, but I’m not a geek fanboy. I don’t care about where my favorite creator ate lunch, only about their creations. If you aren’t a creator, why are you on there? Just to talk about yourself? I don’t care what you have to say. Go make something. Fuck you, fight me.
Sharing on the usual social media is garbage. I could compromise my work for clicks, but would rather follow my passion. I’ve watched youtube long enough to know what works. I don’t want to create videos with huge dollar figures in the title and wide-mouthed people with their hands on their cheeks in the thumbnail. I have what you might call dignity and I try not to be an asshole. Try.
The fact that these antics still work fascinates and depresses me. I have actively trained my eyes to not gravitate towards faces as we are naturally inclined to do. I will not be manipulated by others trying to use my brain against me. My brain is already sabotaging me enough as it is, thank you.
But that’s all social media does. Trick you to keep you scrolling and clicking for more dopamine, ad revenue, and data. This is so old it sound like a dead meme now: yOu ArE tHe PrOduCt. I know, because despite being a sentient android, I’m not immune either. I have been trapped before, and thus I consider the most famous line from the film “WarGames” an accurate way to describe my attitude. (For the record, I quit facebook in my sophomore year of college. I’m over thirty now.)
Family, friends, and co-workers fawn over these websites waiting on ‘drops’ of products, unaware they are being preyed on with extremely simple tactics. Acquaintances have casually mentioned how they saw someone wearing something on ‘IG’, and ended up buying it… without a hint of self-awareness. That’s not to say everyone is a shill, but it’s shocking how hard it is to convince someone of this: Perhaps you didn’t discover something yourself - it was expertly placed in front of you. You in particular.
I also laugh when the loudest critics of these platforms use that website to complain about it. As if moving on isn’t an option… this shit is actually important to some people. L O L
I should stop before anyone thinks this is important to me.
Last, considering the memes are rotting corpses at 4chan and reddit (the dumpsters of the internet) for weeks before reaching the others, I see no reason to hang around the incinerators.
Notoriously toxic communities(twitter), infl*****ers(the one owned by facebook) and - let’s be real - old people(facebook). All I have to do is sacrifice my privacy and data for access to stale, ad-infested, woke, shill content. SIGN ME THE FUCK UP.
